To your examples, I'd add: raccoons pawing through garbage, SUVs slamming into deer on the highway, and coyotees making off with Fluffy The Cat.

Of course, we have deer, raccoons, and coyotees (and a host of other animals) around us -- but there's enough territory for the both of us, so our paths don't cross all that often. Pretty good balance ---unlike what's going on in suburban Seattle these days.TYFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14507074580402175405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1220057250271426855.post-83270403493583675202007-09-24T13:09:00.000-04:002007-09-24T13:09:00.000-04:00Hey Chris,Believe me, I agree with all that you're...Hey Chris,

Believe me, I agree with all that you're saying. I remember when Woodinville was the wilderness and farms. Now, weekly, we have news accounts of bears and cougars "encroaching" on developments on the east side. Of course, you never hear about the developments kicking the animals out of their homes. Seattle talks about "being green" but there are probably 3 SUV's for every hybrid. I'm lucky that I work for one of the few companies that lives its creed - every month we have a minimum of 1 stewardship project (cleaning up parks, planting green spaces, preserving wetlands) - and they have a goal of being carbon-neutral by 2020.

It was great seeing you - the same Chris just a little older. I'm really happy that you and your wife have made this great life for yourselves. If anyone but you had told me that you lived on a farm, I would have asked what kind of drug they were on.CougarKatiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11268556216008739956noreply@blogger.com
