My Idea of Civil Disobedience!

Remember that Amish farmer who the FDA has been treating like some kind of drug lord? His customers are fighting back:

Four weeks after the government moved to shut down Amish farmer Dan Allgyer for selling fresh, unpasteurized milk across state lines, angry moms who made up much of his customer base rallied on the Capitol’s grounds Monday to demand that Congress rein in the food police.

The moms milked a cow just across the street from the Senate and served up gallons of fresh milk, playfully daring one another to drink what, if sold across state lines, would be considered contraband product.

What a terrific protest idea! If we still lived in the DC area, I would've shown up and joined them with one of our goats.

The video these moms put together is terrific:

And, as one of them points out, just look at those kids and how healthy they are!

We're going to start fostering kids with the intent to adopt soon. I've already been told that it would not be good to feed any foster children raw milk, but I'm wondering to what extent we volunteer info. Do we not say anything and then get accused of hiding it and feeding it to the foster kids or do we admit to drinking it ourselves and promise to only feed pasteurized store bought fecal soup to foster kids while totally red-flagging us for any future crack-down on raw milk production and consumption. It won't take much for tides to turn and say any and all consumption of the stuff is child abuse and biological and adopted children be removed from our custody. This is taking a huge amount of faith on my part anyway. As much uproar as protests like these cause, the system is a way bigger, uglier monster that I don't think is going away. :-P
